Context:
The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) has introduced the new e-Zero FIR initiative to tackle cyber financial crimes above ₹10 lakh.

The initiative is being piloted in Delhi and will soon be extended nationwide.
Cyber complaints made via the 1930 helpline or National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) will automatically be converted into Zero FIRs if the fraud amount exceeds ₹10 lakh.
The system is developed by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
It aims to:
It utilises new provisions under the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, specifically Section 173 (1) and 1(ii).
Zero FIRs will be filed at the e-Crime Police Station of Delhi, regardless of the complainant’s location.
These FIRs will then be transferred to jurisdictional cybercrime police stations, enabling pan-India action.
Complainants must visit their local cybercrime police station within three days to convert the Zero FIR into a regular FIR.
