UPI Transactions over Rs 2,000 will attract a fee of 0.4 per cent from October 15, and this will be paid by merchants, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) said Tuesday. For instance, a merchant will pay Rs 40 when it receives Rs 10,000 via UPI.

Six States on Tuesday signed an agreement in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil to implement the much-awaited Kishau multipurpose project which envisages construction of a dam on Tons River.

Over the past few months, there has been a growing worry about the rise in government bond yields worldwide. On Tuesday, the 10-year US bond yield hit a two-decade high.
A government bond is a document in which it acknowledges that it is taking a loan from someone and details how much it will pay back and by when. The government borrows money to meet the gap between its spending (defence, subsidies and more) and earnings (levying taxes).

The US on Tuesday said it had active weapons deployed in space, the first such public admission by any country, sparking a fresh debate. The US did not reveal the nature of weapons deployed, or when they were deployed.
